Brightwildlife Hospitality Limited ("Brightwildlife", "we", "us") operates the website brightwildlife.com and the restaurant at 42 Federal Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010, New Zealand. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through the website, by phone, or in the restaurant — including reservation requests for dining, private events and our in-person poker evenings.
1. Information we collect
When you submit a reservation request — whether for a restaurant table, a private event or a poker night place — we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, preferred date and time, party size and any notes such as dietary requirements. If you reserve a poker evening place, we may also note your seating preferences for the night.
We also collect limited technical information automatically, such as your browser type and how you arrived at the site, through cookies and analytics tools described below and in our Cookie Policy.
2. How we use your information
- To review, confirm and manage your reservation — including places reserved for poker evenings.
- To contact you about your booking, including any changes to restaurant hours or poker night schedules.
- To note dietary requirements and accessibility needs so we can look after you properly.
- To understand how the website is used and to improve it.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations where required.
3. Cookies and local storage

4. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate site traffic — for instance, how often the menu or our poker night pages are visited, and approximate session length. Analytics data does not identify you personally and is never used for advertising profiles.
5. Third-party services
Our booking page embeds Google Maps to help you find the restaurant. When the map loads, Google may set its own cookies and process your IP address under Google's privacy policy. Links to WhatsApp and Viber are handled by those services when you choose to use them.
6. Data retention
Reservation details are kept only as long as needed to manage your booking and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. Poker night reservations are treated the same way — once an evening has passed, details are retained only for ordinary business records.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse or unauthorised access. Access to reservation data is limited to the staff who need it to manage bookings.
8. Your rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you may ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you — including details provided for dinner reservations or poker night bookings. To do so, contact us using the details below — we're happy to help.
